"My name is John Matthew. It is rather ironic that I have a biblical first and last name. After you have heard my story, you will understand why...How did it come to this? I am sitting with a gun in my hand about to murder someone I never met " Howard Sprague writes of love, death, and turmoil in one of the most turbulent eras of change in contemporary American history. His story embraces adventures that belonged to a time when intrigue was entirely personal.
James Wilson’s life started with two strikes against him, his mother was a drug addict, and his father was a career criminal. It’s not much of a surprise that the name James Wilson showed up in the juvenile court records for the first time when he was 10 years old. He was caught attempting to break into a church poor box and charged with vandalism and attempted burglary.
Howard Lee Sprague’s unique way of story telling creates a thrilling novel that brings together the lives of four individuals intersecting in the world of business, politics and espionage. Government secrets are revealed creating a situation where lives are in jeopardy.
Give Me a Second Look is a collection of nine stories from individuals who have graduated from St. Mary’s Food Bank Alliance’s Community Kitchen. In addition to some talking about God’s influence in their lives, all nine people give all or partial credit for their current success to the training received at the Community Kitchen. Twenty seven individuals were contacted and asked to participate in the creation of this book through a series of interviews with the author. The nine individuals who are presented here had the courage to come forward and tell about the adversities in their lives. All of them were eager to tell their stories so that others might see the potential to turn their lives around and become productive members of the community. While the intent of this book was to distribute the stories to new Community Kitchen students we realize that these stories also represent hope to people receiving a second chance from other organizations.

Philippians 1:21-23
For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain. If I am to live in the flesh, that means fruitful labor for me. Yet which I shall choose I cannot tell. I am hard pressed between the two. My desire is to depart and be with Christ, for that is far better.
