Howard retired in 2006 from a career in insurance to enjoy my hobbies. Life after retirement includes: spending time with family, bowling, and political active. I decided to pursue my desire to write. I wrote my first book: Growing up in Suffern, which contains stories about growing up in a small town with my eight cousins. After completing my first book I decided to write children’s books, I completing two books titled: A Cat and Proud of it and Snowflake’s Vacation. In the summer of 2013 I transitioned to writing novels. my first novel was: A Necessary Killing.. Realizing that readers enjoyed my work, in October of 2013 I published a short story titled: A Christmas Conversion. My next book, Lady on the Beach was published in the spring of 2014. This book and story originated from the cover picture and although fiction, incorporated names of friends, I have since then, changed the names. While volunteering at St Mary’s Food Bank, I interviewed nine graduates of St Mary’s Community Kitchen Program and told their stories in my book: Give me a Second Look. These stories are inspirational accounts of individuals, their struggles and their perseverance to improve their lives and overcome past challenges.
I continues to enjoy: retirement, writing and telling people’s stories. I have taken the knowledge gained through this process to publish books for others such as: a book of poems and a commercial portfolio book, displaying paintings for potential clients.
